Technical Overview

Over the past 10 years the Corporation has investigated the potential of separating oils. The testing regime has been based on samples of seeds and oils from around the world.

To achieve its objective it has been necessary for the Corporation to originate and develop high technology equipment for the development and extraction of bio fuel, which can be combined with the Corporation’s existing proprietary processes.

The feed stock enters the plant through a stacked cleaning chamber, where the feed stock is treated in a continuous flow basis resulting in the separation of the oil, water and contaminates. The entire process is monitored from feed to discharge, which has a residence time of 6-9 minutes. The Corporation has developed a specific scada software package to monitor essential parameters.

The new system offers substantial benefits for refining sectors with secondary benefits and oil clean up, effluent clean up, and waste management, enabling the streams to be recycled.

In the case of the original refined oil, it can be further treated to enable an efficient recycling, better than 90% in a closed loop system to produce a clean re-saleable product.

Equipment – Pilot Plant

The Pilot Plant is approximately 40 feet by 40 feet in size and requires approximately 3600 sq feet, with facilities for solar panels and/or 3 phase power, clean water tanks and discharge facilities. The Pilot Plant is fully self-contained. The Pilot Plant operates at 3 M ³ per hour with continuous flow, with a processing time of 6-9 minutes. The plant is fully automated with remote links where applicable.

Main Plant

The Main Plant will be built to specifications to zone 1 standards and to conform to all EPA and BASSEFA standards. The plant will be designed, built and commissioned to the individual application.

The plant will have a target processing at 300 tonnes per hour. It will come complete with state of the art software packages completing the advanced technology package.

The plant is designed to facilitate the separation of Jatropha oil. Additional benefits are available that where higher quality oil is required the system allows for additional recycling of the cleansed streams.

The main plant will be constructed to the specific requirements and size required for a modular construction. Additional capacity can be achieved by the combining of modules for the desired capacity.

The main plant is designed to facilitate as a BABCO standard processing plant. The main plant is designed to be a self-contained closed loop system clearing as a continuous flow system.
